Tap and Grill
About us
In 2018, owners David Harris and Rodney Byrd purchased Sammy's Tap and Grill from the original owner. David has remained the majority owner/operator since the acquisition. David was able to successfully redevelop and improve the original menu and operations.
North Carolina native David Harris grew up in Fayetteville and attended Pine Forest High School. After high school, David attended Western Carolina before transferring to East Carolina University. He graduated from ECU with a major in Industrial Technology with Business and Military Science minors. He graduated Army ROTC commissioned 2nd Lieutenant.
After his graduation, David managed Steak and Ale and was one of the youngest General Managers of a top 10 restaurant. He then managed multiple T.G.I. Friday's locations and lead a new store opening in Naples, FL. After a successful opening, he then did the same for a store opening for Outback Steakhouse in Charleston, SC.
After opening multiple store locations, he became the general manager of Kanki Steakhouses, a local chain of successful hibachi-style restaurants in NC.
His first personal ownership came after he became the Owner/ Operator of Remington Grill along with business partner Rodney Byrd. He was able to develop the restaurant concept and opened 10 licensed stores under the Remington Grill name. It was during his time developing the Remington Grill brand that he was able to purchase Amedeo's Italian Restaurant, and 10 years later (2018), Sammy's Tap and Grill. He is now the main Owner/ Operator for the two restaurants.
